Terri Shamar is a singer/songwriter/musician. With a skillful hand on the
guitar, Terri is a modern day psalmist. Her songs are not just salt and
peppered by the word of God, they are bathed in it. She is unique and in her
own class, and she can passionately
rock the house, capturing the hearts
of her audiences, the backslidden,
the broken, and the lost. Her
audiences leave feeling inspired,
and even healed. She is a divine
appointment to the Body of Christ,
and is determined to go where
angels dare to tread.
On her journey, she has recorded
three cds, performs at churches,
schools, special events, popular
coffee houses, restaurants, retreats,
led worship for many churches, and
has traveled to countries such as Pakistan to minister in song and word.
Out of 200 entries in the Southern California Songwriter's Festival, she was
selected to perform her Christian pop tune, "You Carried Me All the Way",
and was given airplay, and honorable mentions in major newspapers.
Terri’s music plays throughout the country on various radio stations including
Europe.
September 2003, Terri won 1st Place at the Christian Music Talent Search
(Festival Con Dios) in Medford, Oregon. Phil Joel (Newsboys) one of her
judges, announced Terri First Place Winner with her song "You Are My
Keeper". She was to perform again in Nashville, but could not make the trip
because of family emergencies, but left it in the Lord’s hands for another
chance to go to Nashville.
2005, Terri wanted to throw in the towel, but some major event would come
up. After cutting her third CD “Wake Now Sleeper”, she held a fund raiser for
the Hurricane Katrina Victims, at the Historical Rogue Theatre in Grants
Pass, OR., the first Contemporary christian artist to ever perform there. In
the summer of 2006, Terri was the first Contemporary Christian artist to play
at the summer annual "Concerts in the Park", and "The Rivers Edge
Restaurant", one of the top elite restaurants in Grants Pass, OR. that sets on
the famous Rogue River. Thought of as a pioneer in this town of Grants
Pass, Terri sighed, 'God is not through with me yet!” Sprawled on the floor,
face smashed in the ground, once again surrendering to God, remembering
that the proof of your faith being more precious than gold, even though tested
by fire, may be found to result in praise and honor and glory at the revelation
of Jesus Christ.
When God moves, He moves! Out of the blue, in January 2007,
“Indieheaven” dropped in Terri's lap. Terri was already booked for a paid
China Missionary trip, but her husband’s company needed him to meet an
important contract deadline. His company reimbursed every dime for the
China trip! So the Lord wisked Terri off to Franklin, TN. in March 2007, to
attend and perform at the Indieheaven CIA Summit Conference. It was a
turning point in her journey!
In September 2007, the Lord called Terri to Pakistan with her husband, and
Ambassador Ministries, ministering in song and word day and night at
Crusades 15,000 to 30,000 in attendance, traveling city to city, and had an
opportunity to sing for Pakistan Dignitaries. There were many miracles, many
healings. Terri sang and preached to a 300 Muslim women conference, and
laid hands on all who were sick. They call her the “young Mother Teresa that
rocks!” These Christian Muslims would have taken a bullet for them, no
doubt. Thank the Lord for His mercy and protection! This mission was truly a
life changing experience! Again, the first in history for a Contemporary
Christian artist to ever perform in Pakistan!
Terri’s heart is for the homeless, the elderly, orphans and widows, and prays
for the sick. She is a part of Isaiah 58 Ministries, Faith Prayer Ministries
(Pakistan), Ambassador Ministries, and Xtreme With God Ministries with her
husband, Randy Benham, who is a missionary who travels across the world,
laying hands on the sick, and is a gifted speaker.
